PGV Meeting the needs of Hundreds in Rweru Village the Eastern Province of Rwanda (May 2020)

Purpose Global Village in partnership with One Africa and Rich Hearts fed hundreds of people in Rweru Village, located in Rwanda at the beginning of the month. Rich Hearts is a group of young men and women who survived the Rwandan genocide. These dedicated individuals continually support and give back to the community through volunteer work. Despite the fact that Rwanda is in lockdown, permission was granted to provide services and food to the families in the eastern village of Rweru.

Imahkus Okofu(in middle of photo) of Cape Coast Ghana, is the owner of One Africa hotel/ resort in Cape Coast. Imahkus repatriated to Ghana more than 30 years ago and has a popular oceanfront resort in Cape Coast. Imakus was invited to Rwanda to organize and lead a women’s entrepreneur training program. Rweru’s Women’s group provides women an opportunity to create a business. PGV donated sewing machines to Rweru Women’s Group. The women use the sewing machines to make clothing that they will sell. The women also learned how to create a sustainable business to support their families. PGV is happy to sponsor women and families to make a difference!
