Happy New Year from Purpose Global Village!

Welcome to 2024 and a fresh year filled with new opportunities to touch the lives of children in need! As we look back on 2023, our hearts brim with gratitude for the incredible achievements we made together.

Last year, we expanded partnerships: We built powerful alliances across the US and abroad, strengthening our support network for children in need.

Nurtured a village: In Nyariga, Ghana, we provided vital food to the community and made necessary repairs to the local school, ensuring our students have a safe and inspiring space to learn.

We crafted a sweet success: Our beautiful Bolgatanga woven baskets found a welcoming home at Tobin James Winery in Paso Robles, CA! This exciting partnership brings a touch of Ghanaian artistry to wine lovers in the Golden State.

Harmonized for a cause: Dallas, Texas, vibrating with Jeff The Great’s smooth sounds and the delectable creations of Chef Caylon Allen at our incredible fundraising event. Chef Allen, a culinary superstar and Food Network champion, generously lent his talents to support our mission.

Your unwavering support fueled these triumphs, and we enter 2024 with an even stronger resolve. We have ambitious goals: to provide more school supplies, clothing, and food to underserved children worldwide. We believe every child deserves the chance to shine, and with your help, we can make that dream a reality.

Stay tuned for exciting updates throughout the year as we embark on new journeys to nurture, empower, and uplift children in need. Together, we can make a difference, one smile at a time. One village at a time!”

Thank you for being a part of the Purpose Global Village family!

Here’s to a future filled with hope, laughter, and endless possibilities for our children.

Happy New Year!

Our Relationships

Welcome to 2023! We want to thank everyone for the support and love they provided our organization last year. Purpose Global Village was able to help meet the needs of children in two countries. One of the countries was Gambia, located in west Africa, and Ghana was the second. We established a sister foundation in Gambia to increase our ability to serve and provide for women and children. We are excited about the new relationships created and established in Gambia and look forward to serving families.

Our Relationships

The month of June was a busy and productive month for PGV!

This year has come and almost gone, but we are delighted to connect with you and share our work this year finally.  With Levi Thomas, we formed new relationships and connections in the Gambia, west Africa. Levi Thomas is a non-profit organization that helps children in the Gambia. We thank our generous donor, Dr. Colette Boston. Dr. Boston donated several backpacks filled with school supplies. We were also able to provide clothing to children in addition to school supplies and laptops donated by HP Nelson.

In Ghana, many students were provided shoes at Nyariga primary school throughout the 2021 and 2022 school years. We met last year with a delegation of 14 teachers at the Nyariga Primary School to determine the needs of the children.  Teachers at Nyariga School and PGV decided that many children need basic necessities like shoes, clothing, and uniforms to attend school. The school requested technology, texts books, whiteboards, and essential items for student success.

Monterey Jazz Festival

September 23-25

Our Relationships

We want to thank our loyal customers, friends, family, and new family members for making this year’s festival a huge success! The 64th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival took place at the Monterey Fairgrounds on September 23-25.  It was an exciting and star-filled line-up of incredible jazz artists that included George Benson, Pat Metheny, Ledisi, Herbie Hancock, and Candace Springs, to name a few. The festival resumed this year after a year off because of the pandemic, and even though the festival attendance was significantly reduced because of COVID Restrictions the festival was a well attended sold-out event!

This was our first appearance as a non-profit, however, this was our 11th year in attendance as a business entity.

Making Plans to Return To The African Continent!

Our Relationships

This year has been full of twists and unexpected turns. However, we have managed to support women and children in 3 countries on the Continent of Africa. Our work started in Ghana at the beginning of the year and expanded to Rwanda and Botswana. We are thankful that we were able to expand support for more children and women through programs that support and promote sustainable living. PGV supplied women in Botswana with sewing machines and much-needed toiletries during the pandemic.

Many people here in the US and abroad have been widely affected by the worldwide Corona Virus Pandemic.  The economic shutdown of businesses and the inability to work have been a major contributor to the widespread need among several communities.

July/August Madagascar Trip Canceled

June Concert & Madagascar Trip Postponed!

Our trip to Madagascar, Rwanda and Ghana have been postponed until Madagascar, Rwanda, and Ghana open their borders. Our initial plans were to travel on June 8, 2020 but the United States restricted travel. Then we rescheduled to July 5, 2020 but decided to cancel because the International Airport Transportation Association (IATA) displayed that Ghana, Madagascar, and Rwanda’s airports were closed to foreign travelers.

For the past 4 years we have promoted our Black Music Month Concert and held it in the month of June however; this year amid the CoronaVirus Pandemic we were forced to postpone this event. Our June concert provides most of the support for our organization in addition to website sales. Thank you to everyone who supports PGV through donations and purchasing items on our website. We are grateful and thankful for the support! Your ongoing support will help us meet the needs of many school children and families in developing nations.

As soon as the borders open in Madagascar, Rwanda, and Ghana we will travel and connect with our partners and communities abroad, we miss our friends tremendously. We are looking forward to reconnecting soon!

PGV Meeting the needs of Hundreds in Rweru Village the Eastern Province of Rwanda (May 2020)

Purpose Global Village in partnership with One Africa and Rich Hearts fed hundreds of people in Rweru Village, located in Rwanda at the beginning of the month. Rich Hearts is a group of young men and women who survived the Rwandan genocide. These dedicated individuals continually support and give back to the community through volunteer work. Despite the fact that Rwanda is in lockdown, permission was granted to provide services and food to the families in the eastern village of Rweru.

Imahkus Okofu(in middle of photo) of Cape Coast Ghana, is the owner of One Africa hotel/ resort in Cape Coast. Imahkus repatriated to Ghana more than 30 years ago and has a popular oceanfront resort in Cape Coast. Imakus was invited to Rwanda to organize and lead a women’s entrepreneur training program. Rweru’s Women’s group provides women an opportunity to create a business. PGV donated sewing machines to Rweru Women’s Group. The women use the sewing machines to make clothing that they will sell. The women also learned how to create a sustainable business to support their families. PGV is happy to sponsor women and families to make a difference!
